CELLULITE AND DRINKS: TEA AND COFFEE

Avoid tea and coffee most of the time. These are stimulants -drugs – that are not received by the body as food nor as water.

Some weight-loss people cut out the milk and sugar, and drink their coffee black. Your body will function much better if you cut out the tannin, caffeine and nicotine altogether. They are genuine stimulants.

The origin of coffee goes-back to 850BC when an Ethiopian goatherder was amazed by his hyperactive flock. “It must be those small, red coffee beans,” he concluded. Caffeine is a real drug, that’s for sure. It is an active ingredient in stay-awake tablets, and athletes with too much caffeine in their system have been banned from participating in the international games. 1

Only water is recognised by the body as water – no other liquid is, even though water might be its main component.

Herbal Tea

There is a whole range of excellent caffeine-free herbal tea products available.

• Chamomile tea is good for relaxation.

• Rose hip tea is a rich source of vitamin C.

• Chinese tea is good for the digestion.

• And the same menthol constituent you find in your toothpaste is what gives peppermint tea the feeling of cleanliness. Peppermint tea has long been prized for its ability to soothe digestive disturbances.

Now that a strong market for such product is established, the range has broadened and you can purchase from a wide range of blended teas. For example, one blended tea is made up of lemon peel, hibiscus flowers, native peppermint leaves, rosehips, orange peel, lemon grass and licorice root. It tastes great!
